Year-End Awards

Points - Sponsored Awards - Banquet

All members who show the same horse in the same class(es) at three out of four shows over the course of the show season are eligible for year-end awards. Two awards, Champion and Reserve Champion, are presented for each class at our year-end banquet in October.

Points

Points are awarded in every class to horse/rider (or horse/handler) combinations who place first through sixth, as long as the rider or handler is a member at the time of their entry in the class. These points accumulate across all four shows, so even though it is only required that the pair show in three, it is in their best interest to come to all four.

Each of the top six competitors recieves points. First place receives six points, second receives five points, third receives four points, and so on down to sixth, which receives one point.

Each show manager compiles their own points separately (or appoints someone else to compile them), so specific questions about points should be addressed to those people (all of their phone numbers can be found in the showbook). Remember that compiling points takes a good deal of time - especially as the season progresses - so it may take some time to get them updated after each show. Points and standings are not final until the banquet and depend on a number of factors, including membership and participation.
